EU4DigitalSME project and
Public Call for submission of conceptual proposals on
Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
on Wednesday, 19 January 2021
to be held at the Bolero Conference Room, Hotel Marriot, Sarajevo / MS Teams
starting at 10 a.m.
Small and medium size enterprises are the focus of the future digital society and as such are becoming the centre of the digital market in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This poses new challenges but also opportunities for them. They can develop their offers and to present innovative products and services on the domestic and world market and in this way demonstrate their competitiveness.
With the help of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH), small and medium size enterprises can become just like that: digital and competitive, skilled, economically and environmentally friendly. DIH are organised as regional multi-partner platforms for cooperation. They include research and technology organisations, universities, industry associations, private chambers, incubators/accelerators, regional development agencies and vocational training institutes.
Over 200 functional DIHs have been established in the European Union, stimulating innovation and supporting the digital transformation. They are also becoming a reality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of the goals of the project Support for Digitalisation of Small and Medium Size Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EU4DigitalSME) is the installation of at least 3 functional digital innovation hubs. The aim is to create a suitable environment to support the digitalisation of small and medium size enterprises in this country.
The BioSense Institute from Novi Sad in Serbia will also be presented at the conference organized for media representatives, as an example of good practice in digitising agriculture in the Western Balkans.
The total value of the project is 6.1 million EUR, and it is jointly financed by the European Union (5 million EUR) and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (1.1 million EUR). The EU4DigitalSME project was officially launched on 1 September 2021 and it is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH together with project partners.
All interested media and organisations may register to participate in the event at b2bit.ba.
